Recruitment scams are on the rise and can be difficult to spot. In 2023, there was an 118% increase in job scam cases in the United States*, assisted heavily by the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Candidates are being contacted with deceptive job listings on legitimate platforms, such as LinkedIn or Indeed. After engaging with the fraudulent company, candidates are then asked to provide sensitive information that could result in personal financial loss. This request for confidential information is known as “phishing” and scammers have become more sophisticated over time by using real company logos, employee names, and information to mislead people.

Unfortunately, like many other large corporations, nVent is not immune to this type of scam. We have been falsely impersonated by companies posing as nVent recruiters, conducting detailed interview processes, and issuing fake job offers. Job seekers are mistaking the communications as coming from nVent because the email addresses contain “nVent” in part of the name. The senders often ask for sensitive information and monetary payment. These are NOT authentic nVent recruitment communications.
At nVent, we never:

  1. Ask candidates for payment of any kind
  2. Request confidential information early in the recruiting process
  3. Require candidates purchase external certificates or coursework to enhance their credentials
  4. Contact candidates using an email address from any domain other than nVent.com

Important notes to keep in mind to protect yourself:

  • All nVent job opportunities are posted on this website: https://nvent.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/nVent. You can verify the validity of a role by searching there as a first step.
  • If a role is posted and accepting applications, a recruiter will always ask you to apply through our applicant tracking system.
  • Our recruitment process consists of multiple steps where candidates connect live with multiple teammates over the phone, virtually (with cameras on) or in-person.
  • Adequate time is allotted for detailed conversations to occur. For example, if you receive a notice of a 15-minute interview with multiple people, it is not valid.
  • Offers will not be extended before a live conversation with an nVent recruiter is had.

nVent is committed to protecting the privacy of candidates. For more information on which personal data we collect during the recruitment process, how we may use this data, and other related information that is important for you to know, please see our recruitment privacy notice

We will continue to investigate these fraudulent cases as they occur. We encourage you to be cautious of unsolicited recruitment outreach and always verify before responding.

  • If you receive an offer of employment you suspect as being fraudulent and would like to check its validity, please email electricalcareers@nVent.com and type “Suspected Employment Offer Fraud” in the subject line.
  • If you have been a victim of recruitment fraud by a company impersonating nVent, please contact our ethics and compliance team at nVentethics@nVent.com
